Lifestyle Change: Simple Steps for a Healthier Liver

May 17, 2024

Dealing with fatty liver can be challenging, but the good news is that there are simple remedies that can help manage and even reverse this condition. I am guilty of overindulging since the lockdown. I have gained weight and I know that I need to make some lifestyle changes and incorporate natural remedies to support my liver health effectively.

Understanding Fatty Liver

Before diving into the remedies, it is important to understand what fatty liver is. Fatty liver occurs when too much fat builds up in the liver cells. While it can be caused by excessive alcohol consumption, known as Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (AFLD), the non-alcoholic version (NAFLD) is more common and linked to diet, lifestyle, and other health conditions.

Here are some simple steps I have started for a healthier liver:

Adopt a Balanced Diet

I now eat more fruits and vegetables. These are packed with vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants that can help reduce liver inflammation. When it comes to whole grains, foods like brown rice, oats, and whole wheat are rich in fiber, which helps in maintaining a healthy weight and reducing fat buildup in the liver. I also started incorporating sources of healthy fats like avocados, nuts, seeds, and olive oil.

Stay Hydrated

Drinking plenty of water helps the liver function optimally. It aids in detoxifying the liver and flushing out toxins. I now limit my soda intake and drink at least a liter of water everyday. I work from home and it helps to have a water bottle on my desk to encourage me to drink more.

Exercise Regularly

Physical activity is one of the most effective ways to reduce liver fat. Aim for at least 30 minutes of moderate exercise, such as brisk walking, cycling, or swimming, most days of the week. My goal is 5,000 steps a day.

Limit Sugar Intake

High sugar consumption, especially from sugary drinks and snacks, can lead to fat accumulation in the liver. Opt for natural sugars from fruits and minimize processed sugar. But the best really is just to drink water.

Herbal Remedies

When it comes to herbal remedies, the first thing that comes to my mind is traditional Chinese Medicine. Good thing I have discovered LAC Activated Liver Protector. It contains extract of raw herbs that provide benefits for me to achieve a healthier liver. After meal, I take a capsule twice daily with warm water.

LAC Liver Protector

LAC Activated Liver Protector is formulated to prevent and alleviate fatty liver disease, a common issue due to poor diet and lifestyle choices. The blend of herbs like White Peony Root, Hawthorn, and Turmeric work synergistically to enhance liver function and promote detoxification. This supplement also helps lower levels of bad cholesterol and triglycerides, contributing to improved cardiovascular health. By maintaining healthy blood lipid levels, it supports overall metabolic functions. The inclusion of ingredients such as Hawthorn aids digestion and enhances metabolic efficiency, helping your body process nutrients more effectively. Regular use of LAC Activated Liver Protector can lead to better energy levels, improved skin health, and enhanced immune function, making it a comprehensive solution for holistic health.

Manage Stress

Chronic stress can negatively impact liver health. Practice relaxation techniques such as yoga, meditation, or deep breathing exercises to reduce stress levels. There are lots of videos available on Youtube that can help you relax.

Avoid Alcohol

If you have fatty liver disease, it’s crucial to avoid alcohol as it can further damage the liver. I only drink alcohol occasionally. But if you can totally avoid, it will be the best for your liver.

Get Adequate Sleep

Good sleep is essential for overall health, including liver health. I always aim for 7-9 hours of quality sleep per night.

Monitor Progress

Make sure that you have regular check-ups with your healthcare provider are important to monitor the condition of your liver. Blood tests and imaging can help track improvements and ensure that your liver is getting healthier.

Lifestyle changes can have a significant impact on managing and reversing fatty liver. By adopting a healthy diet, staying active, and incorporating natural remedies, you can support your liver health and overall well-being. Always consult with your healthcare provider before starting any new treatment, especially if you have existing health conditions. Remember, small steps can lead to big improvements in your liver health!
