It's not you. It's him.

Why do we always make up excuses when a relationship fails?
Why do we always blame ourselves?

You know you've put so much effort to make the relationship work. Will it be less painful if you make yourself believe that you are the reason why he fell out of love?

It's not you. It's him.

He cheated.
He broke your trust.
His actions don't match his words.
He wanted to change who you are.
He was physically hurting you whenever he's upset.
He always blamed you for starting an argument.
He was never supportive of your dreams.

So he left. It was not because he found someone better. It's time to stop rationalizing. You deserve someone better.

  1. Hmmmm ... there is always the other side of the coin. Where some people see a threat is in reality a misunderstanding or different expectation. However, I do not like to hear that people think it is their fault to get hurt. Never accept to get hurt in any way, not physical not mental, we do not need to accept this. Having said this, we have all the right for a happy life.

  2. It's okay to sometimes put the blame on yourself if it will ease you up. But at the end of the day, let go of everything amd clean your thoughts and your heart. Admit that he messed up big time. And he's losing it already.

  3. Very touching and true indeed. Reminded me of my old days :(

  4. Relationship demand effort from both. If one of them fails, it won't last longer. Eventually, they fall apart. It's time to realize they deserve better life.

  5. It is better to end something that does not work. And it should be done as soon as possible to prevent any more stress. One should be aware of her own mistakes. But you should definitively not blame yourself for the misdeeds of your partner.

  6. This could be true. But it's also possible that there is something you can improve in yourself. As the saying goes, it takes two to tango. I believe that introspection can help a lot in healing and moving forward.

  7. Yes,this is a good way to make up the mind.Always you are not the reason for any fault. It can be him or any other one in between you two.Nicely written and a good message to others who suffer.

  8. Definitely you deserve some one better. :)
Cheer up! One should not give up rational thinking while being in love that is important I think. All love affairs are not happy ending fairy tales.

  9. Ah yes, the cliche line! Yet it resonates with most of us. I guess, we, humans, tend to compromise for things we don't like to let go of. Even though it's killing us.

  10. Perhaps because we are good by nature and even if an ex did something wrong, we still protect his reputation. I agree though that we should give ourselves a favor. Let us love ourselves, too, the same way we loved an ex. No one would love us better than ourselves, too.

  11. Very precise and staright to the point.
If a person leaves you, it's because he doesn't deserve you, so, move on and you'll definitely find a better person!

  12. Really heart breaking!
