Natural Pore Minimizer for Oily Skin

June 02, 2017

I have an oily skin and acne has been a problem when I was younger. The acne is gone now except for occasional breakouts. What remains to be a concern is my large pores. You just don't know how much I envy women with flawless, poreless skin. If you have an oily skin like I do, chances are you have been looking for remedies to shrink those pores.

I've been researching what have been causing my large pores aside from oily skin and found out that stress, make up, and would you believe too much moisturizer also contribute to the problem.

Here are some natural pore minimizer remedies for oily skin

Ice Cubes

I remember my make up artist advised me a month before my wedding to rub an ice cube on my face twice a day to close the pores. And on my wedding day, she made sure I did this routine an hour before she put my makeup on. She told me it will also help control the oiliness of my skin.

I don't do this anymore but instead I wash my face with cold water or I put a face towel in the fridge and cover my face with it for a few minutes. I really can feel my skin tightening and the pores visibly gone.

Egg White

You can make a facial mask using egg white. It helps unclog pores and deeply cleanses the skin. Apply the egg white on your face and cover your face with a tissue paper. When the egg white dries up, peel off the tissue paper. Wash off with water afterwards.

Rose Water

They say Cleopatra used rose water in her beauty regimen. Rose water is known to control excess oil and helps in declogging pores. You can buy rose water from beauty stores but if you prefer it to be all natural, it is easy to make one. Here's how to make your own rose water at home  http://www.fortybeyond.com/2017/05/how-to-make-your-own-rose-water.html

Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple cider vinegar became very popular because of it's many health benefits especially for weight loss. It's anti-inflammatory property is also good for the skin. It is good for maintaining the PH balance and pore tightening. You need two parts water and one part apple cider vinegar. Apply onto your skin using a cotton ball and let it stay for a few minutes. Rinse with water afterwards.

I tried this a few times but I just can't stand the smell of the apple cider vinegar.

Cucumber Juice

Cucumber juice contains silica that helps improve the texture of your skin. Apply the juice on your face and leave it for 15 minutes. Rinse off.

Baking Soda

Baking soda is great in exfoliating the skin. It helps get rid of dead skin cells and removes excess oil. Mix two tablespoons of baking soda with enough amount of lukewarm water to make a paste. Apply on your face and rub in circular motion. Leave it for 5-10 minutes and then rinse with cold water.

You can also use this paste to exfoliate other parts of the body like the knees, elbows, and underarms. For dark underarm problems, http://www.fortybeyond.com/2017/05/natural-underarm-whitening-remedies-you.html

Milk

I'm lactose intolerant but even though I can't drink milk, I can use it as a natural facial cleanser. It helps shrink large pores. Apply it on your face using a cotton ball and let it stay for fifteen minutes. Rinse off with cold water.
