Things to do at home during lockdown that don't include Netflix series binge-watching

How long have you been on lockdown because of the enhance community quarantine? I'm actually not counting the days. I just want to keep on going and look for things to do to help me cope. Before the lockdown, I'm certain most of us were complaining of not having enough time to do the things we want to do. While we now have more time, we are limited to the activities we can do at home. Just in case you find yourself running out of things to keep your mind off the fear and anxiety brought by COVID-19, here's a checklist of things to do at home during the lockdown that don't include Netflix series binge-watching.

  • read the pile of books you hoarded every time you go to Big Bad Wolf
  • learn a new language (probably Korean so you need not read the subtitle when watching K-drama series)
  • take an online course
  • start a blog (because why not?!)
  • workout to have a summer-ready body (for next year hehe)
  • create a budget plan
  • plan your meals for the next two weeks
  • learn how to cook
  • start a journal (remember your childhood diary? the one with a cute padlock?)
  • make handwritten letters for loved ones and friends you can send after the lockdown
  • map out your family tree
  • make a vision board (check out what I did two years ago HERE )
  • start a vegetable garden
  • declutter the drawers, cabinets, closets at home
  • delete obsolete email messages
  • organize your files and photos
  • clean the house and rearrange the furniture
  • discard your tupperwares and microwaveable containers that don't have a matching cover
  • learn how to do your own makeup
  • clean-out your medicine cabinet and list what you need to restock
  • prepare a Go-bag

These are some of the things you can do at home and will almost not cost you a cent. You will definitely thank yourself for doing these. And being productive will make time feel like it’s going by faster.

How many in the list have you done so far? Can you suggest more activities to do during the lockdown?
