Forty and Beyond

the life of a fortysomething

January 31, 2018

It's not you. It's him.

Why do we always make up excuses when a relationship fails?
Why do we always blame ourselves?

You know you've put so much effort to make the relationship work. Will it be less painful if you make yourself believe that you are the reason why he fell out of love?

It's not you. It's him.

He cheated.
He broke your trust.
His actions don't match his words.
He wanted to change who you are.
He was physically hurting you whenever he's upset.
He always blamed you for starting an argument.
He was never supportive of your dreams.

So he left. It was not because he found someone better. It's time to stop rationalizing. You deserve someone better.
